Reconnaissance Mission 2
May 16th, 2008 | Published in Instructions for Ludens
We Ludens travelled far and wide gathering information as part of the first reconnaissance mission.
Now we need to lay more foundations for what will follow.
Now we need to map the resources available to us.
To be able to thoroughly investigate the world of the Sapiens and play The Game in real time we need to make good use of glowboxes and miniglowboxes as we move in, around and through the landscape. We need to appropriate the resources already out there so we can do this efficiently.
The Teams:
For this mission, we will be working in teams:
cheops’ pre-ops
@cross_triangle
@Dr_Boobly
@lepufo
@loki
pandahandstand
@buttachan
@furpile
@happysausage
@stainbear
Starfish Troopers
@appie
@Dave_the_mouse
@eliffant
@LeonHerring
@monkmad
- Squegglies will be awarded for good/innovative work.
- As new Ludens join us, you can recruit them to your team.
- Newly arrived Ludens must declare which team they have joined before they can contribute to the mission.
- You can only belong to one team and you cannot transfer between teams.
- There may be different teams for later missions in The Game, so play nice.
The Task:
Each team is responsible for locating and documenting as many forms of free Internet access as possible. This can either be through use of your own portable glowboxes, or by using Sapiens glowboxes provided for the purpose. Miniglowboxes if it’s something others can do to.
The Map:
@cross_triangle has shown us the way…
As team leaders secretaries @cross_triangle, @LeonHerring and @stainbear will be issued with instructions for editing the Recon2 map. You must decide whether to distribute this knowledge amongst the other team members and how to best coordinate efforts.
Use location markers and/or mark out areas as appropriate. Include relevant information such as connection name, log on details or opening times. Anything that might be useful for The Game.
To claim a resource for your team, you must also include a photo of a team member in that location. Both team member and location must be clearly identifiable. No duplications: each resource to be mapped only once.
Yohmoh shows you how (just a guide, of course):
Again, take all necessary precautions not to reveal the identity of any Ludens.
The Timeframe:
This mission is important. It will run until the 1st of June. (Other assignments may also take place during this time.)
After The Game, we leave the map as a legacy; the map must therefore be simple enough for Sapiens to use.
Good luck, happy hunting.
